Rector Meets with Ambassador of Netherlands in GeorgiaThe Rector of Tbilisi State University, Academician Jaba Samushia met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Georgia, Meline Arakelian to discuss the implementation of joint scientific projects of TSU and the Dutch academic community, including the joint participation of Georgian and Dutch scientists in the Horizon projects.

 

Rector Jaba Samushia said that the Kingdom of the Netherlands is one of the countries where the Georgian language is taught at the academic level. “Our professors are teaching Georgian language at Leiden University. This cooperation is very important for our country, and we would like to further deepen and expand our relations. We have research projects in almost all directions, among them, TSU scientists and representatives of TSU research institutes are involved in international scientific projects, and I think that connecting our scientists with the Dutch scientific community will be very important,” Rector Samushia noted.

 

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Georgia, Meline Arakelian said that in order to deepen the cooperation between Tbilisi State University and higher education institutions of the Netherlands, the Embassy will promote the establishment of ties between the academic communities of the two countries, fundraising for mobility purposes and organizing joint lectures.

 

After the meeting with Rector Jaba Samushia, the Dutch Ambassador met with students of Tbilisi State University.
